Metabolic Research Center Reviews

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you recommend a keto diet for your clients?

At Metabolic Research Center, we don't talk about specific diets. What we offer are personalized menu plans to follow a keto diet. Our basic MRC menu plan is based on low-carbohydrate consumption, a healthy intake of good fat, and modest amounts of protein. MRC also offers supplementation to help your reach a healthy state of ketosis to jump start turning your body into a fat-burning machine.

What does my medical weight loss program include?

All medical weight loss programs include your prescription, a simple and structured menu plan, and one-on-one coaching.

Can MRC help me maintain my target weight?

At MRC, we don't believe in yo-yo dieting. Understanding the importance of weight maintenance is at the core of our weight loss programs. Once you adopt a healthier way of eating, we will provide the education you need to make the transition from losing weight to maintaining your goal weight.

Why do I always gain the weight back?

At our weight loss center, we will educate you as to how low energy levels can stand in the way of your goals. If you've tried other plans to lose weight but struggled to keep the weight off, MRC's experienced coaches can explain why your diet was likely destined to fail.

My doctor recommended I start this medication. Do I still need to have a medical screening?

Yes. Our healthcare provider will be the one to write your prescription; so, they will also need to screen you for eligiblity and participation before your weight loss medication can be written and filled by our licensed compounding pharmacy partners.

How will I administer my weight loss medication?

Compounded weight injections are administered subcutaneosly either into your stomach or thigh. You will give yourself the injection at home using a small insulin needle. You will be provided with clear instructions and guidance on how to administer your weight loss medication. Your MRC Team is also available to answer any questions you may have before getting started or during your treatment.

Your medications don't cost as much as the ones through my doctor. Are they safe?

While the price of compounded medications is not as expensive as other options can be, our medications are still prepared by licensed compounding pharmacists who follow strict quality standards and guidelines for every prescription.

Do I have to go to a hospital for DNA Testing?

No. DNA testing can be performed at our North Little Rock center. In fact, a quick swab of your cheek and that's it. It will take a few days to get your results back and the DNA analysis can be used to outline a weight loss program that is customized based on your DNA.
