How to Lose Weight with Virtual Coaching and Remote Support

Blog Image: How to Lose Weight with Virtual Coaching and Remote Support

The COVID-19 pandemic is exposing people to new ways of doing things and forcing weight loss providers to develop new strategies for delivering education, support, and encouragement for those engaged in a weight loss journey. Metabolic Research Center is not designing weight loss programs from scratch to be delivered remotely. Our programs have been personalized and custom tailored to meet an individual’s specific need for more than thirty years. Virtual coaching for weight loss needs to be put in context of the times that we are living through with the coronavirus pandemic. Fact is, we are not trying to create alternatives to traditional programs but are accommodating the needs people have right now. It is the disruption caused by the pandemic that has required our providers to rapidly develop long distance education and remote coaching for those needing to lose weight without the traditional face-to-face sessions at a brick-n-mortar weight loss center.

If you need to shed unwanted pounds due to pandemic weight gain, an actionable plan that delivers remote support for personalized motivation and accountability can restore your confidence and put you back in control of your well-being by considering these needs:

  • AVOID PORTION DISTORTION - The FDA nutrition facts label on packaged and canned foods list the recommended serving size based on your total nutritional intake of a specified portion size. You must count the energy consumed from portions correctly to manage your food intake.
  • PREVENT WEIGHT REGAIN - If you are overweight but do not have factors that indicate a higher risk of chronic health conditions, it is crucial that you do not gain any more weight. Even amount of weight gain could quickly increase your risk of developing a lifelong disease.
  • ADDRESS MAJOR DISTRACTIONS - The two major distractions to eating a meal or snack are televisions and computers. Far too many people during the pandemic are grabbing a meal and sitting down in front of an electronic device while they eat.
  • MAINTAIN A REALISTIC VIEW - Having at home support and remote coaching to help you track your progress as move forward can help you maintain a realistic view and stay motivated throughout your weight loss journey.

To help reverse your tendency to overeat, set a time when you do meal preparation. Not only will this make life a little easier when it comes time to cook, it will also keep you from thinking about what you are going to eat while completing other daily tasks.

Some weight loss programs focus on improving your health while others are created with weight loss as the primary goal. Regardless of your goals, avoid menu plans that cut out entire food groups, as that can result in unwanted nutritional deficiencies that are not sustainable. Personalized menu plans based on consuming real food have been shown in research studies to improve health, provide a sense of satiety, and lose weight as well as being less restrictive when it comes to daily food choices. If you goal is to lose unwanted weight gain and restore your good health, you don’t need pre-packaged meals or intense calorie counting. A good weight loss coach can help you develop intuitive eating strategies where you stop eating when your body feels full. At Metabolic Research Center, you have your own virtual coach to help you improve your adherence to a personalized menu plan that will fuel your body. Moreover, our remote education and support will keep you motivated, so you can celebrate your own success story.

Diane Mahlberg ????? 3 weeks ago I began my journey with Metabolic Research Center March 2022 and reached my goal November 2022, losing over 60 pounds. I went to the center located in Canon City, CO. The reason I picked Metabolic Research Center is that they not only guide you to lose weight, but they also include a maintenance program to help you keep it off. That has always been my downfall after losing weight, maintaining it. I’ve found that the coaches are very helpful and encouraging at MRC in Canon City. The main coach that I’ve worked with in Canon City is Josh. There are days that I wanted to give up, but he’s always helpful with suggestions and encouragement to help me keep going. If I’m feeling down or blue, he always picks up my spirit and puts a smile on my face. It’s not only learning how to eat right, we also need to work on our attitudes that may cause us to not take good care of ourselves. The supplements they offer help to give you boosts in your weight loss journey and help you stay on program. I can’t say enough about how much it has helped me not only lose weight, but gave me the tools to help keep it off. I especially thank my wonderful coach, Josh, that has never given up on me and always there to help me. Thanks MRC!
