It is important to always look for times in your busy schedule where there are a good opportunities to be more active. So, don't accept your reasons for not prioritizing simple physical activities that can make you a healthier person.
Increase in Sedentary Lifestyles
American's increasingly sedentary lifestyles have prompted an explosion of research and discussions about the ills of sitting. Some scientists theorize that weight gain due to more sitting may actually cause a reduction in insulin sensitivity as opposed to fewer calories burned. Spending more time standing is not only a great way to prevent weight gain, but it also fatigues your nervous system, making it easier to get to sleep at night.
Give Your Body a Natural Boost
Breaking up sitting time gives all your bodily functions a boost, like revving your car's engine. Identify those times of day when you will normally have time to stand, walk or climb a few flights of stairs. Remember, some of your best ideas can come to you when you are on a walk at work or home. The dual benefits of being more active are physical and mental improvements. If you work from home, make sure your schedule is not too flexible. Treat your home office as your office and avoid at home temptations.
