Compounded Injections for Weight Control

When trying to lose weight and keep it off, maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise are an ideal starting point. However, additional steps like compounded injectables can support your long-term weight management goals. Compounding offers a tailored approach, where pharmacists create customized formulations by mixing or altering ingredients to meet each patient’s specific needs. Discussed below are some of the compounded medications that may be prescribed to help you reach your long-term goals:

  • Compounded Weight Loss Shots – Unlike commercial versions, compounded weight loss shots may include different ingredients or additional components for specific prescription formulations or adjustments in dosages.
  • Compounded Peptide-Assisted Injections – Compounded peptide-assisted injections emerged as a vital solution for patients during national medication shortages and personalized prescriptions that align with an individual’s unique medical requirements.
  • Compounded Weight Medications – Compounded weight medications contains the active ingredient found in well-known medications, but is prepared in a compounding pharmacy for each individual’s prescriptive needs.
  • Compounded NAD+ – NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a naturally occurring coenzyme found in cells that plays a critical role in cellular energy production, DNA repair and overall cell health.
  • Compounded Lipo-B (MIC+B12) – By enhancing metabolism, components like vitamin B12, methionine, choline, and inositol, work together to promote fat breakdown and improve liver function.
  • Compounded GAC (glutamine, arginine, carnitine) – GAC injections are prepared by a compounding pharmacy as an innovative blend of amino acids (glutamine, arginine and carnitine) to enhance wellness.
  • Compounded Glutathione – This compounded tripeptide is composed of three amino acids (glycine, cysteine, and glutamate) and vital for maintaining cellular health that plays a key role in detoxification.
  • Compounded Sermorelin – Sermorelin is a 29-amino acid polypeptide that acts as a synthetic version of a growth hormone that leads to higher energy levels so you feel prepared to face the challenges of the day.

Certified compounding pharmacies play an essential role in preparing these personalized treatments, and MRC understands the importance of working closely with reputable, qualified professionals. While compounded medications are not FDA-approved, they are prescribed by MRC’s network of licensed healthcare providers based on individual requirements, such as when a commercially available version isn’t suitable, or specific doses or formulations are needed. Compounded alternatives provide patients an opportunity for custom solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your medications on backorder?

At this time our medications are not on back order. We work with reputable partner pharmacies to ensure the medications for MRC Clients are available. Circumstances beyond our control do occur, but they are rare and will be communicated should they occur.

I'm nervous to get started on a medical weight loss program.

A little nervousness is normal! Individuals choose prescription weight loss with Metabolic Research Center over other online options because we are more than just a prescription or a website. We are in person support with real humans to provide you with professional coaching, advice, and support throughout the duration of your journey to eliminate the guesswork of weight loss and help you achieve the results you seek.

Do I need to have labs done through you or can I use my own?

In most cases, lab work is not required. Should our physician need to see your labs, they will let you know on an individual, case-by-case basis. If labs are needed, then you are welcome to provide your own from your primary healthcare provider, provided they are in date and include any required panels.

Do you offer a high-blood pressure diet?

Yes. We can personalize a menu plan to meet your body's specific needs. Typically, a high-blood pressure diet is comprised of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. You will need to eliminate processed foods with added sugars and high sodium content. Plus, our weight loss programs include mild exercise and lifestyle changes that promote a good night's sleep.

I need to be at a healthy weight for joint replacement. Can you help?

MRC can help you lose weight. Decades of randomized controlled trials have proven a personalized approach using a ketogenic diet can force your body to burn its own fat reserves for fuel. Following a strict low-carb, high-fat menu plan may allow you to maximize your weight loss efforts prior to your joint replacement surgery.

How much do your medical weight loss programs cost?

>Medical program availability and costs vary by location and strength. Medical programs typically start at $279. This price is inclusive of one month of medication, your menu(s), and all of your coaching sessions, classes, and regular progress measurement.

How do micronutrients differ from macronutrients?

Basically, the body requires both to support healthy growth, normal metabolism, energy, immune system function, and physical well-being. Macronutrients are needed in larger quantities and include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Micronutrients include vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants. They play an essential role in maintaining good health, but are only needed in limited quantities.

Does MRC accept health insurance?

While we do not accept nor do we bill insurance, we have found that most major medical insurance companies will reimburse you for medical necessity.
