Good Fats Are Good For Losing Weight

Blog Image: Good Fats Are Good For Losing Weight

If you know you need to increase your daily intake of nutrients, eating real foods is the way to go. Whole food contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and other compounds your body needs. Moreover, the nutrients derived from whole foods tend to work better together and are more likely to survive digestion than supplements. A high-fat diet for weight loss can definitely help you lose weight. However, it is important to choose healthy fats and minimally processed foods.

Keto Diet Favors Healthy Dietary Fats

Consumers have choices, such as the keto diet or Mediterranean-style diet, both provide your body with only good carbs, healthy fats and lean protein. The very popular ketogenic diet is high in healthy fats and low in sugar and starches. A keto menu shifts your metabolism from burning glucose to burning stored fat to promote satiety and support healthy weight loss. Once nuts were considered taboo for people on a diet, as it turns out, nuts may help you feel less hungry.

Your body makes its own fat from excess calories in the bloodstream. Since fat supports a number of bodily functions, fats are essential to your health but some types of dietary fat may play a role in cardiovascular disease. Research studies on the possible harm and benefit of consuming dietary fats is always evolving. Current scientific evidence suggests that you should focus on selecting healthier fats and avoiding the less healthy ones like solid fats.

Processed Foods Blamed as Culprit in Obesity Epidemic

Health officials do not consider it a coincidence that the obesity epidemic in our country happened around the same time that highly processed foods became more available. Although processed foods are convenient, they are packed with empty calories and low in nutrients. Real foods, on the other hand, are very healthy. Real foods are single-ingredient foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals instead of jam packed with chemicals and food additives. After all, real foods are unprocessed.
