Although you cannot change your past, you have a choice everyday regarding the attitude you embrace and the impact you have on your own life. The key to moving beyond a "to-do-list" mindset is to direct your attention toward accomplishing a challenge that requires a results-driven mindset. Once you accept that mistakes are normal and should be expected when tackling difficult challenges, you won't give up easily when things get difficult and will be more willing to take additional risks. A growth mindset creates a burning desire to tackle new challenges like losing weight and keeping it off.

By developing a flexible mindset, you begin to understand that your life should never be about building walls but focused on greater self-awareness. Start by reviewing the tips provided below:

  • Start with Yourself - Accomplishing new things requires that you resist the notion of protecting yourself from uncertainty, and instead, work your past fear and discomfort to gain a greater self-knowledge.
  • Believe Change is Possible - It is not enough simply to create an action plan, because you only grow when you take an action. Remember, it is just a thought until you decide to do something about it.
  • Define Your Needs and Get Started - Wake up with your goals in mind every day. That's not to say you should wake up worried. Instead, make a commitment to stay happy; you owe it to yourself.
  • Start Small and Finish Big - Never fear another person's criticism. Your harshest critic may actually provide you with valuable insights to help you become better at what you want to accomplish in life.
  • Focus on Your Pace Only - Your journey toward self-improvement is not a race. If you never allow yourself to enjoy the scenery, your goal can become more myth than reality. Follow your rainbow with passion.
  • Invest Time in a Growth Mindset - Developing new mindsets is not an easy thing to do. Sometimes you need to shock yourself out of an existing pattern of behavior, so you can act more consciously and intentionally.

Managing your vision for change will go a lot smoother once you've made a commitment to redefine your mindsets. But, don't expect changes to occur without expending effort. To make the best decisions when taking risks, you have to remain focused on the rewards while being less concerned about the risks. It's not about having more. Optimizing your life is all about developing healthy habits to tackle challenges with growth mindsets, rather than making excuses for why your can't. If there is a habit that you previously tried to establish but somehow let it slip away, renewing that challenge and seeing it through will provide a greater sense of self-efficacy.
