When it comes to weight-loss friendly foods, few have sparked as much debate as eggs. The latest dietary research suggests an egg a day is safe and nutritious for most adults. Moreover, if you eat that egg for breakfast, you'll boost your odds of losing weight as eggs are packed with protein. In recent years, there has been a growing argument over where you eat rather than what you eat. Turns out that distracted eating in front of your computer or TV can easily become stored fat, so dedicate a time to eat and stop eating when you feel full.

Catsup Is Not a Healthy Weight Loss Option

If you want to lose weight, or manage your target weight, omit mayonnaise and aioli from your menu plan. This will reduce your overall intake of empty calories while allowing you to replace the condiment with more a nutrient-rich option. If you are looking to double-down and sabotage your weight loss plan, eat a plate full of French fries with a side of ketchup as a daily part of your menu plan. One teaspoon of catsup is the equivalent of eating one packet of refined sugar.

With so much emphasis placed on the foods you eat, it is easy to overlook the importance of the condiments and sauces used to flavor your meals. It is entirely possible for a single salad with ranch dressing to take up more than half of your recommended calories for the day. Mayonnaise, aioli and mayo-based dressings cannot support efficient weight loss unless they are consumed in very small portions. Although these are made from whole ingredients, such as egg yolks, vinegar and olive oil, they are high in calories and may contain added sugars.

Dieting Is Unpleasant; Eating Healthy Is Not!

Dieting will always be an unpleasant experience when you feel like you have a mandate of bland foods that you must eat. If you approach losing weight as following an eating plan that includes healthy, creatively prepared meals, losing weight and keeping it off will be much easier to stick to and probably a more pleasant over-all experience. Do not let nature be an excuse for premature aging. Yes, as you grow older, visceral fat starts accumulate around your midsection more easily. Fortunately, there are seasonings and other nutrients that can help to shrink your gut.
