Make Smart Decisions with Your Choice of Fruit

Blog Image: Make Smart Decisions with Your Choice of Fruit

Obesity rates in the United States have tripled since the 1960s and doubled since the 1980s with nearly 70 percent of Americans overweight. Excess weight harms the health of the individual and burdens the community where the person lives. If you are like thousands of dieters, you have likely tried just about everything with very little success. If you want to lose weight, limit your consumption of foods with a high-calorie density. Instead, substitute a naturally high-fat food that is healthy when consumed in smaller quantities.

Eliminating Fruit from Your Diet Can Backfire

Canned fruits can be an affordable and perfectly healthy substitute for fresh fruit that is not in season as long as they are not packaged in heavy syrup with added sugars. Fruit canned in its own juice or in water can do in a pinch. Eliminating fruit can backfire when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off. Instead, make smart decisions with your choice of fruit and you can reap the benefits that fruit has to offer and still achieve your goal weight.

If you are following a very strict ketogenic menu plan, eating fruit may not fit the carbohydrate and protein restrictions of these diets. Moreover, dieters with fructose intolerances will need to restrict fruit consumption. Many health experts consider fruit to be one of nature's healthiest snacks that is portable, full of fiber, tasty and loaded with essential nutrients. However, fruit is still high in fructose that can still add up without proper portion control.

The Right Energy Balance Achieves Homeostasis

Although the contribution of a single dietary change to weight control may be hard to measure, together the changes can add up and have a significant effect on a community. Meaning it is important to keep in mind that food choices are shaped by the environment that makes foods more accessible or decrease availability of less healthy food items. Most people live much of their life in the same weight range with zero calorie counting. Truth is his or her body has achieved the right energy balance to support homeostasis. Altering these processes makes losing weight and keeping it off more difficult.

I started the metabolic research center in Columbus. GA in Dec 2021. I have lost 54 lbs. I started out at 194 lb and am now 140 lb. I have 5 more pounds to lose and I will be at my goal weight of 135 lbs which I haven't weighed since I was in high school. I have succeeded in my weight lost because of this program. They gave me a realistic diet that I have followed where I can eat foods that I can buy at the grocery store. My consultant Stacey has been great at giving me advice that helps me throughout the week eating where I can lose weight. She is my biggest cheerleader. I am so glad I started this program and am 5 lbs from reaching my goal.
