Lemon Pie Yogurt
We often get asked about “flavored yogurts” and if they have a place in the weight loss journey. The flavor is a lovely touch, but for store bought varieties, that usually means they’re coming with a lot of added sugar (which is not going to be conducive to weight loss and cravings). Your best option for weight loss is a plain, non-fat Greek yogurt. It’s packed full of protein (more so than your non-Greek varieties) so it helps you feel fuller, and it doesn’t contain the extra added sugars that you get with flavored yogurts.
But, we know (and agree) that plain Greek yogurt by itself can be a bit abrasive and not as enjoyable to many palates. So, the chefs in the MRC Kitchen took that same plain yogurt and gave it a fruity makeover! Today’s result tastes just like buying Lemon or Lemon Pie flavored yogurt - but WITHOUT all of the added sugar! And it’s got just enough tart to satisfy without bringing on the pucker.
This recipe is quick and simple. So, for those of you short on time in the morning, this one is still totally doable in a crunch. It also travels incredibly well for those of you who are REALLY short on time in the mornings! Our recipe makes two servings; so, one can be kept in the fridge for the next day or if you REALLY like it, you can also enjoy it again at a later meal in the day!
