According to researchers at McGill University's Montreal Neurological Institute, teaching people to trigger their brain's self-control centers could be a key in helping them to lose weight and keep it off. Identifying healthier alternatives is a great way to manage your cravings, especially for junk food. Make a batch of crispy kale chips to satisfy your hunger for potato chips. Over time, you brain and taste buds will adjust and learn to like the healthier option even more.

Since many people get into trouble because they eat too much when they snack, trick your mind into eating less and enjoying it more. Portion your snacks into small baggies. This way you will feel like you ate all of something and your brain will be more satisfied. In a Canadian weight loss study, participants who had better control of the areas of the brain involved in cognitive response and self-regulation had better weight loss results.

  • Visualize Your Success - Research studies suggest that dieting alone does not work well for long-term weight loss as the body has a natural tendency to maintain body weight to prevent starvation when food is scarce.
  • Seek Professional Help - Obesity is a disease and it should be treated as such. That's why it is important to work with a weight loss specialist or dietitian to personalize a menu plan that's right for your body. Plus, this person will be there through the good and the bad times.
  • See the Future You - Since it takes time to accomplish real goals, it is important to adopt realistic strategies for budgeting your time each day, so you can devote effort to eating right and staying active.
  • Talk to Friends & Family - A 100% commitment to your weight loss goals means there is no indecision about what you intend to accomplish and when.
  • Chant Your Mantra - Do not allow yourself to use secondary issues to sabotage your own weight loss plan by always cleaning your plate to avoid dumping excess food in the trash. Adjust your portion sizes next time but always focus on improving your health and well-being.

In recent years, obesity has risen to epidemic levels and accounts for a significant increase in rates of cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancer, musculoskeletal disorders, and diabetes. If you have a body mass index equal to or greater than 30, you are considered to be obese. If you make your health a priority, you can build steps into your routines and healthy patterns of behavior will become a routine part of your every day.

Weight loss specialist say that having the right attitude can help you think yourself thin. However, you must change the patterns and habits that are getting in the way of your success. Your body is designed for survival and does not know that you are purposely restricting food to lose weight. It does know that it is not consuming enough food and will automatically slow metabolism to conserve precious energy.

If I had my way, I would be consuming all the WRONG things & that NEVER WORKED doing my own way! I had been with "MRC" 9 yrs ago & had wonderful result!!! It did not take very long & had the most wonderful mentor at the time who made it even easier to do. When I reacjed goal & got on maintenamce, I kept the weight off for 3 years, no problem. THEN COVID HIT! That made me eventually regress slowly until I was into the thros of disaster, all "grab & go" QUICKIES, not consuming healthy fruits & vegetables anymore & felt defeated & also in denail! Until I called Metabolic again & gor "DEBORAH" (the other Deborah, lol!) on the phone to tell me of a nice option. I made the appt. & FINALLY FOLLOWED UP to decide to start taking my HEALTH more seriously or doctors & medications would take over & I dreaded the thought of that! So, I am back to doing my delicious added protein flavors to my waters & enjoying my delicious favorite chocolate pudding & chicken soup....lol, and not worried if I will be GAINING weight!! It is all about the healthy protein offered by MRC & cooking on my own, healthy lean meats, veggies & fruit together with the structure of this program that really does work! The trick was to get rid of everything I knew in my cabinets & refrigerator & to replace with what I know is required. Was not hard at all & im fact, made me feel EMPOWERED in doing so......was TIME! Time to clean out & eat clean inside!! I just started & the beauty of this program is HOW I LOSE.....NICE & LEAN, THE STORED FAT & then the scale lines up!! It may seem costly at first but it is all worth the expense & work put into it because ypu will feel good energy in the process!
