Instant Gratification Does Not Work for Losing Weight

Blog Image: Instant Gratification Does Not Work for Losing Weight

Losing weight gradually involves making strategic dietary changes and maintaining activity levels that you can stick with forever. If weight loss tapers off, you may need to make tactic adjustments. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t be obsessed with getting results as quickly as possible. Instant gratification is not a productive approach when it comes to healthy, sustainable weight loss. Avoid unwanted side effects from losing weight too quickly, such as:

  • Nutritional Deficiencies - Overweight or obese individuals have a higher prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies due to inadequate eating habits. Supplementation is normally needed to support rapid weight loss.
  • Fat Loss Flatline - Never assume you can go back to your previous diet once you’ve lost weight. It is important to adopt the new eating habits as a lifestyle change and not a short-term strategy to shed unwanted pounds.
  • Gallstones - Rapid weight loss from crash dieting can cause some people to develop hard lumps in their gallbladder, which lead to the formation of gallstones. Eat healthy by including a little fat along with the other macronutrients.
  • Hormones Out of Whack - Losing weight too fast can trigger hormonal changes that could lead to acne, mood swings, depression, sleep disturbances and other undesirable symptoms like menstrual irregularities.
  • Headaches - Prioritizing the foods you eat, such as fiber-rich vegetables, healthy fats, and lean proteins, is good for your overall health and will keep you satiated to prevent hunger headaches for occurring between meals.
  • Loss of Muscle Mass - Even though the number on your bathroom scale ends up looking nicer, the loss of lean muscle mass is unlikely going to provide aesthetic improvements to how your body looks or how you feel.

You may lose weight more quickly at first and then it slows down. Don’t despair, following a personalized menu plan and staying active will beat any quickie weight loss plan and the results will be sustainable. It is not always practical to team up with your partner or your best friend for support of your weight loss efforts. When planning for your weight loss journey, select a weight loss plan that provides the encouragement and support you need to succeed. I have lost almost 15 pounds with this program and it's been great. It allows me to be quick and on-the-go too. A big thanks to Jessieca and the gals for being so supportive.
