Create a Vision of What You Want to Change

Adopting a growth mindset instead of relying on a fixed mindset will keep you from giving up when things get difficult, because you have the right beliefs and strategies to persevere. Norman Vincent Peale, an American minister and author of the best-selling book The Power of Positive Thinking once said, "Change your thoughts and change your world." People who rely on a fixed mindset to manage their life often believe that others are born with the ability to succeed, while they don't possess the same gift. It is important that your mindset allows you to see yourself as someone who can create a vision of what you want to accomplish.

Without actually changing your mindset and way of thinking, any gains will only be short term. Checkout the tips listed below to be a better you:

  • Start with Yourself - Automatic negative thoughts, also called ANTs, occur when you're unaware and can lead to irresponsible decision making. So, always think twice to avoid stumbling blocks caused by self doubt.
  • Time to Start is Now - Some people flip their switch with a brisk walk or morning jog. Find what works best for you and don't waste time getting your day started.
  • Believe Change is Possible - Rather than pine for what you wish you had, change your life by changing your thoughts about what you believe is possible. It may be all that stands between you and true happiness.
  • Understand and Focus on Your Why - The nature of your thoughts determines the quality with which you lead your life. Pessimistic thinking creates inertia and forces you to avoid taking risks by relying on a faulty fixed mindset.
  • Time to Change is Now - When old ways of thinking come up, as they will, it's not enough to simply ignore them. Instead, weigh your thoughts against new evidence uncovered by your growth mindset.
  • Set a Pace Based on Your Mindset - You should have two goals in life. The first goal is to get what you want. The second goal is to take time and enjoy the fruits of your efforts.

Once you muster the motivation to make changes to your life, don't procrastinate. Take the first step and rely on your growth mindset to guide your future actions. If you decide to change your attitude, it's time to make your self-talk work for you instead of against you. Negative self-talk will not work. It is too easy to think that people around you are going to be supportive of your decision to make a major change in your life. Instead, accept the fact that no one cares, then cherish the fact that no one cares. Everything that you need to be happy is likely right in front of you.

I’ve always been one to do my own individual routine with health goals, however, making the choice to partner with Metabolic Research Center to accomplish those goals is proving to be a great decision. Yes the products are great and the plans; but having the support and commitment of Debra and her team is what really makes you confident in what you’re doing and appreciate the investment even the more.
