Wildberry Yogurt Smoothie
This recipe will quickly become your new go-to on busy mornings. It checks all the boxes: high in protein, requires no cooking, and is ready in just a couple of minutes (literally!). The biggest complaint we hear about smoothies for breakfast is that they don't keep you full all morning. And that can be true depending on what you've got in your smoothie! This recipe, packed with 30g of protein, is definitely going to keep you feel full and satisfied between breakfast and lunch! While you could make this recipe just as easily with regular yogurt, we opt for plain, non-fat Greek yogurt for maximum protein and minimum calories and added sugars!
About the ingredients:
- Greek Yogurt - choose Greek because it is higher in protein. Look for plain, as you don't need all that added sugar. Lastly, we go for fat-free to keep it lean.
- Berries - frozen berries work perfect in this recipe because they make it extra creamy and thick. You could use fresh berries, though, and would probably just want to add a few ice cubes to thicken up your smoothie!
- Protein Drink High Nutrient Supplement (HNS) - MRC offers many flavors of protein drinks (HNS), and all pack 15g of protein and pair perfectly with smoothies. In this recipe we used the flavor Wildberry Passion. This protein drink HNS adds 15 grams of protien to your breakfast with less than 100 calories; helping you feel feel and satisfied for hours.
Ingredients:
- 4-6 oz. plain, nonfat Greek Yogurt*
- 1 packet MRC Wildberry Passion protein drink HNS
- 4 oz. frozen berries
- 2-4 oz. water
*MRC Clients: refer to your menu for exact protein portion sizes
Place all ingredients in a blender or smoothie cup and blend until smooth. Start with 2 oz. of water and gradully increase until you reach your desired thickness. If your smoothie thins out too much, add ice cubes one at a time until you reach your desired thickness.
