According to Albert Einstein, “…the world we have created is a product of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” This quote is also true when it comes to the way you. If you’re going to change your eating behaviors, you need to change the way you think about food.

What Do You Say to Yourself?

How do you think about food now? What do you say to yourself as you work to lose weight? Maybe you tell yourself, “I just can’t have that because it’s not great for me, although it looks so good and tastes amazing.” Perhaps you say to yourself, “I just have to give that up since I’m dieting and trying to lose weight.”

 

How to Change Your Inner Speak

The way you’re talking to yourself and thinking about food could be sabotaging your weight loss efforts. It’s time to change the way you speak to yourself. Perhaps tell yourself, “There’s no way I’m going to eat that because it can keep me from feeling great.” Change your inner speak to “It may look great, but looks can be deceiving and that food can poison my goals, body, and brain.”

How to Change Your Thinking

Yes, you have to change your food and eating habits if you’re going to lose weight. However, you also have to change your outlook, the way you think, and your inner speak. You must change how you feel about food and what you tell yourself about your food.

Get started by determining your relationship with food. How do you see food? How do you feel about food? What do you tell yourself about your food?
