Can NLP Help You Lose Weight?
Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP, picks up where other forms of psychotherapy leaves off. Developed by Virginia Satir and Richard Bandler, NLP allows you to regain control of your reactions to the things that happen around you, as well as how you think and feel about certain things. It is important to remember that you are in control of your physical, mental and emotional selves at all time. You may not be able to control what happens around you, but you, and you alone, have control of how you respond to these external and internal stimuli.
When someone says something negative to you, it is your choice how you respond. You can walk away, listen to what they say or respond with something positive. The little voice in your head that fills you with self doubt is one of the biggest saboteurs around. You can choose to listen or you can choose to do something constructive. People often believe what others say about them, both good and bad, because they do not have enough self-confidence to retaliate. NLP gives you the tools you need to listen, evaluate and then move forward.
By learning to override the mechanisms that keep you trapped in a world of doubt, you need to first realize you have value. Your physical, emotional and mental health are all important and it is up to you take control of how they are affected by outside circumstances. One of the easiest ways to do this is to always counteract negative thoughts and actions with positive ones. You will immediately begin to see things in a brighter light. Once you begin to change your negatives to positives, you will have a much better outlook on both your circumstances as well as your future.
