There is nothing wrong with snacking throughout the day as long as you pick the right foods to snack on. If you need something to eat between meals, consider the following options.

Mixed Nuts

Mixed nuts make an excellent snack. They are not only tasty but also contain protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Studies have shown they improve your metabolism and promote weight loss as long as you eat them in moderation. Just be sure the nuts you buy don't contain added unhealthy ingredients.

Fruit

You can never go wrong snacking on fruit in-between meals. Fruit contains a host of vitamins and minerals your body needs boost your immune system, keep your skin and hair healthy and looking good and keep important organs functioning properly.

Natural Peanut Butter

You can find natural peanut butter for sale in various stores. It is typically sold in glass jars and looks noticeably different from regular peanut butter due to the layer of oil at the top. You can also make your own healthy peanut butter at home if you wish.

Peanut butter is rich in protein that will not only build muscle mass but also burn calories. It can be eaten with whole wheat bread, whole grain crackers, baby carrots or celery sticks to name just a few of the many options.

Full Fat Yogurt

Full fat yogurt may seem like a treat to avoid if you want to lose weight but studies have shown that it actually reduces the risk of obesity. Just be sure to choose one that contains little or no sugar, food coloring and other additives.

Plan your snacks in advance so you always have a healthy snack on hand when you need it. Eating in-between meals can actually be good for you if you pick healthy snacks that burn fat rather than pack it on.

My relationship with Metabolic Research center began Feb 2010 when I weighed 182 lbs and had high blood pressure. I lost a total of 69 lbs and 72 inches. It has been 6 years and I continue to maintain my weight. I owe my continued success to MRC and all the great classes, especially yoga and the continued support that I receive from the staff. I have learned that food is nothing but fuel for the body and just as with your car you need to give it the right fuel in order for it to run proper. Follow the program and it is possible to loose the weight and maintain it. Nothing tastes as great as healthy feels!
