Make A Fresh Start in 2016
One of the nice things about the New Year is that it really is new. You have a chance to make a fresh start when it comes to weight loss. To set yourself up for success, try some of these ideas.
Don't Beat Yourself Up
So you indulged over the holidays; most people do. It doesn't make you a bad person and it doesn't mean you're stuck forever. New year, remember? Look in the mirror and tell yourself about all the great things you're going to do for your health this year. And if you slip, learn from the mistake and get right back up.
It's the little things that count. Add fresh raw vegetables to that lunch you're going to pack at least twice a week. Keep fresh fruit handy for snack attacks. Maybe you can't walk for 30 minutes every day (at least not yet) but you can park your car at the far end of the employee parking lot instead of right next to the door. Stand up and stretch every hour or two.
Don't Forget the Basics
Good health isn't just a matter of how much you weigh. Turn off the electronic toys and go to bed early enough to get a good night's sleep (by the way, sleep disorders and excess weight are often connected). Drink plenty of water (it will help you burn excess fat). Spend time with friends, read a book or engage in some other pleasurable activity.
Don't try to go it alone. When you're trying to lose weight or get healthy, support can make all the difference. At Metabolic Research Center, we'll give you that support. We've all been there, and we can help you make a difference in your life.
