How to Bounce Back From Binge Eating

Did your cravings get the best of you last night? If you found yourself eating an entire pint of ice cream or a couple extra slices of pizza, it’s ok, don’t beat yourself up over it. Just be sure not to make a habit out of overeating. We have come up with a few tips on how you can bounce back from a binge:

  1. Be Kind: It’s very important not to beat yourself up. If you had a binge session or have just veered off your healthy eating habits, remind yourself that it is ok. Don’t punish yourself, just accept the splurge and move on.  

  2. Walk: We highly recommend going for a nice relaxing walk after overeating. Taking a walk after binge eating will aid in digestion. This will make you feel so much better and reduce that uncomfortable bloated feeling.

  3. Don’t Skip Breakfast: This is probably the worst thing you can do in the morning after a binge. By not eating breakfast you are drastically increasing your chances of another binge episode . The trick is to keep breakfast on the lighter side and incorporate lots of vegetables and protein. Veggie omelette anyone?

  4. Drink Water: This is so important because drinking lots of water will help flush out all of the toxins and make you feel so much better. If you consumed too many fatty and salty foods during your binge, then your body is probably dehydrated so drinking lots of water will help you rehydrate.

  5. Look the Part: As you are bouncing back from your binge, take a hot shower and tell yourself it’s a new day. Put on your favorite workout clothes and tackle your to do list.
