Dinner Recipes for Healthy Living

Tilapia w/Hobo Spices

After a long day at work, sometimes the most comforting thought is coming home to a nice hearty dinner. Your body has exerted a lot of energy so naturally you are hungry and ready for your stomach and taste buds to be satisfied. Sadly, many of us grew up in homes that programmed us to expect huge dinners packed with meats, carbs and sauces. Sometimes vegetables and salads were left out completely, while every meal was paired with a large helping of white bread or a sugar-packed dessert to finish. It doesn't take much imagination to realize this  isn't going to help our weight loss goals. But what if we told you that creating a mouth-watering, healthy meal to cap your day isn't as hard or time-consuming as it may sound? Here's the perfect recipe to prove it:

Blackened Tilapia with Hobo Spices. It already sounds adventurous, and the best part is it takes under 20 minutes to create. For the spices you'll want to combine: paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, black and white pepper, thyme, celery seed and salt to taste. They call this the "hobo spices" but you can also experiment with your own favorite spices and herbs. Once you've coated the fish with the spices, saute it in olive oil or coconut oil- both wonderfully healthy cooking oil options. All you need now is a nice green vegetable on the side, or a fresh tossed salad with a healthy dressing.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out our page full of tasty body-fortifying recipes for more options that are easy to make and sure to tempt your taste buds. The more healthy ingredients you consistently put into your body, the less you'll crave the unhealthy ones. Start re-programming your body to enjoy the good stuff by exploring some deliciously healthy options for your next dinner plans.

My relationship with Metabolic Research center began Feb 2010 when I weighed 182 lbs and had high blood pressure. I lost a total of 69 lbs and 72 inches. It has been 6 years and I continue to maintain my weight. I owe my continued success to MRC and all the great classes, especially yoga and the continued support that I receive from the staff. I have learned that food is nothing but fuel for the body and just as with your car you need to give it the right fuel in order for it to run proper. Follow the program and it is possible to loose the weight and maintain it. Nothing tastes as great as healthy feels!
