Ditch the Elevator

When you enter multi-level buildings, do you immediately look for an elevator? If you want to drop some pounds, ditch this convenient mode of transportation. Climbing stairs in a great way to burn calories while getting your heart pumping. Depending on how intense you work out, you might be able to burn 300 calories per 30 minutes of stair climbing. If you suffer from knee problems, climbing down stairs may cause pain. However, you might still be able to climb up stairs and simply take the elevator back down them.

Avoid the Closest Parking Spot

When driving into a parking lot, do you instantly wheel into the closest parking space to your destination you can find? If losing weight is a priority, avoid this common behavior. Instead, look for the farthest parking space from the building you wish to enter. Walking those extra steps will help you burn calories while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Walk While You Talk

Do you spend an enormous amount of time talking on the phone each day? Whenever you answer the phone, get up and walk around instead of sitting in a comfortable chair. You may be amazed at how many calories you can burn while catching up with your sister at home or talking with clients at work.
