Move More

One of the easiest ways to promote weight loss and good health is to simply move more. When you take your pup out for an early morning or evening potty break, go ahead and take a nice stroll around the neighborhood. Your pet will be grateful for the chance to explore and you both will get a nice workout in the process. Aim for at least 20 minutes each day.

Challenge Yourself

When you have the opportunity, seek a walking route with your pooch that offers varied elevations. Walking up and down small (or large) hills will increase the intensity of your workout. Many parks have excellent hiking trails and will allow you to bring your pet along as long as it is leashed and you clean up after it.

Play More

Playing with a joyful pup is a great way to unwind and de-stress after a long day or work week. Make an obstacle course in your backyard, head to the local bark park to run around, or just engage in a good, old-fashioned game of Frisbee or tug of war.

Your dog loves a good challenge just as much as he or she loves you. Spending more active time together is just what the doctor ordered, for the both of you.
