Three Bogus Excuses for Not Drinking Enough Water


There's no doubt that getting plenty of water each day can help deliver a bevy of benefits including smoother, clearer skin and a svelte figure. Yet, various studies show that up to two thirds of Americans don't drink enough water. And they have a whole slew of excuses as to why not.   1. It's boring: So jazz it up. Freeze slices of oranges, lemons or limes, chunks of pineapple or crushed berries and use them in place of ice cubes.

  2. Bottled water is pricey: Who says you have to buy bottled water? Purchase a few hard plastic water bottles or thermoses in your favorite colors or fun patterns and fill them with water from the water fountain at your office or gym. Other options are to install a water filter in your kitchen sink or buy water by the jug to save money and help protect the environment, too.

  3. I'll have to pee constantly: This is a common one among those who work in office settings. And it's valid - but only for a short time. It takes just a few days for your body to get accustomed to being properly hydrated. Once that happens, your body will instinctively better utilize water and your bladder will get stronger. A great tip is to start at the beginning of your next three-day weekend, so you go back to work hydrated and healthier.
